Nested in the DehCho region in the Northwest Territories, Sambaa K’e is a hidden gem. Formerly named Trout Lake, this community includes around 90 residents who live within Sambaa K’e, and encompasses an additional 35 Band members who live in communities elsewhere in the Northwest Territories, Canada and abroad. Sambaa K’e First Nation seeks to encourage bright futures for our Members and residents, rooted in our strong Indigenous culture, language and traditional skills.
We are Sambaa K'e First Nation.
This is our story.
Message from the Chief
On behalf of Council and the Community Government, I welcome you to the Sambaa K’e First Nation website. We have created this website both to communicate to members, and also to share our community and culture.
The creation of this site aligns with our 10-year strategic plan to strengthen communication and governance. I hope that you find it useful to learn more about Sambaa K’e First Nations, and the services that our government offers.
The site includes a members-only section where SKFN members can login and access government material such as meeting minutes, documents, reports, and special projects. For a login name and password, please contact the First Nation Office. Please enjoy the website and I encourage you to visit regularly for information from Council.
This website is an important communication tool to inform members and celebrate our community, culture, and good governance.
